Victim Assistance Department

The victim assistance department is designed to provide information and support to victims of crime as their case proceeds through the criminal justice system. This includes the following:

  • Accompanying victims to court.
  • Informing victim of the status of their case.
  • Advocating on behalf of victims.
  • Providing emergency transportation to court.
  • Informing victims of their rights.
  • Connecting victims to the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office for Victim Reparation funds.
  • Discussing victim safety and assisting victim in creating a safety plan.
  • Providing referrals.
  • Providing the victim an orientation to the criminal justice system.
  • Encouraging employer and family support.
